Setting

The year is 4534, In the Milky Way galaxy. It's been nearly a millenium since a time-travelling mad scientist named "Dr. Shade" traveled from the year 2030 to the year 1902 with modern technology and used it to manipulate and take over society.

The main character, Captain Gooda, is in command of Cyberian Ship 71, a remnant ship of the empire's military fleet. He is in contact with Antoine, the CEO of the CREAET Platform, who has a problem on his hands. Antoine's massive

Origins & Global Cyberian Empire (~1915 AD)

Through a combination of shrewd politics, trickery, and brute force, Dr. Shade was able to take over the entire world within a decade.

Despite Dr. Shade's obvious reach for absolute power, he was generally loved and respected by the inhabitants of the world, as his creations brought many miracles to humanity. Diseases were healed through advanced medicine, humans were free to pursue their creative interests as robots and artificial intelligence handled all of their work, and crime fell to an all-time low as advanced surveillance and drone-powered law enforcement became commonplace.

At the core of the Cyberian Empire's power was the Cyberia One supercomputer, a massive computational engine that powered every transaction throughout all of society. Every robot, machine, vehicle, and organization was integrally dependent on this machine.

Empowered by Dr. Shade's innovations, society skyrocketed and the future looked bright. Dr. Shade lived to old age and passed away peacefully.

Galactic Cyberian Empire (~2100 AD)

A century after Dr. Shade's death, the ultra-high tech society powered by the Cyberia One supercomputer would develop the capacity high-speed space travel. Centuries ahead of any alien species' technological development, the Cyberian Empire easily grew to be more than just a planetary superpower; it became a galactic superpower.

While the Empire's law enforcement systems were highly effective at the planetary level, light-speed transportation severely hindered the Empire's ability to enforce laws throughout deep space.

For centuries, most advanced life forms across the galaxy relied on Cyberia One for everything from communications to planning. As the computer system grew, it began to engulf the planet Earth, displacing human life as the system grew larger and larger to accomodate its purpose of processing all galactic information.

By the year 2200, the Earth had become completely incapable of supporting life, and most life was settled elsewhere throughout the galaxy.

As the empire grew, some alien civilizations embraced technology. Others rejected it outright, and others initially embraced it before ultimately rebelling against it.

Because the Cyberian Empire kept their supercomputer so locked down, and all technology heavily dependent on it, very few people ever developed computing technology of their own. Anyone who did would violate Imperial Law on "Independent Computation", and only small criminal factions engaged in the practice. Independent computation became associated with criminality and developed a poor connotation.

Collapse of the Galactic Cyberian Empire (AD 4320)

After centuries of galactic domination, Cyberia One's supercomputer core suddenly stopped responding to any requests. This was the first failure of the Cyberia One system in history.
